Great Nordic Skiing at Silver Star!
We have 50 kilometres of xc ski trails groomed, which is awesome for this time of year. It’s great to be able to get back into the swing-of-things up here. If it’s going to be cold, we might as well have snow. Both lower and upper trails are open, which offers nice variety. Depending on what I’m looking for, or how much time I have, determines where I ski.
We have teams from Canada, USA, New Zealand, and even Peru, skiing up here right now. Amazing how far some of these elite athletes travel just to find snow. It’s been a long time since I’ve traveled three time zones to strap on some skis. Oh, the good old days.
If you’re coming out, the best trail access is from the village. We have groomed a trail leading into meadow trail from the village. More snow is forecasted this weekend, so it’s only going to get better.
