We picked up 3cm's of new snow last night, but still need a significant storm before we can open. Forecast looks pretty good this weekend and early next week so fingers crossed the 28th will be a great day!

Any chance that the opening might move up a couple of days? Or does staffing/scheduling/whatever prohibit opening before the 28th? We're making our ninth annual trek up from Seattle for US Thanksgiving next week and the kids would sure love to be able to have more than one day of those lifts opening. Silver Queen at least?? Looking forward to it...

Accommodation in the village is your best bet for easy access to shopping and restaurants. There's a wide range of pricing, so every budget is in range. Plus your kids can ski-in/ski-out quite easily. Another option is the newly opened FireLight Lodge. It's located near Tube Town and Brewer's Pond. Great family access. We also have a in-resort shuttle that leaves the village every 20 minutes that will take you to your accommodation no matter where you are staying at Silver Star. Hope you enjoy your visit!

the website looks good and we are planning our trip. for a couple families with kids and some less mobile adults that will not all be skiing, where is the best area to stay that is easy to get around to all of the non-skiing stuff?
