Here are some answers to some frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Do I need a lift ticket when I take a lesson?
Yes, everybody requires a lift ticket to ride any lift (including the carpets) even when in a lesson.

Do I need to book ahead?
Yes, our programs are very popular, to avoid disappointment we recommend booking in advance to ensure your space.

What if it snows, will the lessons be cancelled?
No, the lessons run daily and are not cancelled due to conditions

If I take a lesson, do I have to stand in line and wait at the bottom?
No, that's the great thing about taking a lesson. You get to bypass the line-ups and move to the front for another run/lesson.

What level am I?

Can I request a certain instructor?
Yes, we do offer requests for private lessons. You can request an instructor for group lessons although we cannot guarantee it.

What size are the group lessons?
Our maximum for group lessons is 8, although the average group size is 5.

Do you offer teen only programs?
Yes, during holiday periods we offer teen only programs (identical to our regular programs but we split the age groups). These will run with a minimum of 3 participants

Do you offer racing and bump programs?
Yes we do, either in a private lesson format or join our afternoon fun clinics

How do I book lessons?
You can email the centres directly to request a booking form from starkids@skisilverstar.com for children up to the age of 12 and lessons@skisilverstar.com for 13+. You can also call our toll free number 1 866 558 2112, we do need to take payment at time of booking and therefore require a credit card number.

How many lessons should I take?
The magic number seems to be 3. There is no set number it depends on individuals and whether you are looking to join a fun group and enjoy the social aspect or would like some more technical information.

Do you recommend to learn to ski or board first?
We always recommend skiing first, unless you are a surfer or skater.

How many instructors do you have?
We currently have 125 instructors

I had an instructor last year but cant remember his/her name?
We have a photo board in the Sales Centre and also have the instructor bios on the website.

We are traveling a long distance, can we hire ski clothes instead of bringing ours?
Yes, we do rent outerwear at Ski Dazzle. rentals@skisilverstar.com

What kind of training do your instructors have?
Our instructors are the most highly trained in Canada. They are trained on a daily basis by our top pros and by course conductors on certification courses.

Do you offer any specials?
We do have special programs that run throughout the winter, LD, MD, and TCFS. Click here for more information on our local programs.

What temperatures can we expect?
Our average temperature is -5 Celsius although it can get down to -20 Celsius.

Do I get the same instructor for all my lessons?
Only for privates, ski improvements clinics, mens + ladies day and Ski Academy for adults and for kids in our Monday to Friday Adventure weeks and Too Cool For School.

Can I take a lesson with my child?
Yes, in a private lesson you can have whoever you like. Different ages and abilities, you get to use your time how you choose.
