| Description:Silver Star Mountain Resort Snowsports School has an esteemed history of providing the highest level of instruction and customer service to our guests. We are also known for providing excellence in staff professional development. Silver Star Mountain Resort is looking for a dynamic individual to fill our role of Snowsports School Director.
Primary purpose:
Your primary role will be to develop and manage the Snowsports school, including, The Silver Star Kids Centre, and the Ski Academy
Responsibilities:
Coaches, motivates and leads our Snowsports School Staff
Increase awareness of The Ski Academy
Provide training and increase the teaching capabilities of our Snowsports School staff
Develop sales strategies to respond to the marketplace and increase growth.
Liaise with special interest groups (Ski Clubs) and events department in regards to Silver Star commitments and required site time.
Manage Public School programs and liaise with local school districts
Interaction with senior managers and VP over daily operations and near and long term strategic planning
Attend Familiarization tours, on and off snow.
Represent Silver Star during shoulder and summer seasons at ski shows as required from time to time
Aware of Risk Management and insurance as it relates to our industry and on hill activities
Financial responsibility for the Snowsports School.
Understanding the market place and adjusting our products to suit demands.
Increasing the customer service level of our Snowsports School staff through ongoing training and reinforcement
| Required Qualifications:Education and Training:
College/University Degree an asset
Level 4 CSIA and CASA would be an asset
Understanding of Nordic would be beneficial
Understanding of Mountain Biking and related bike camps and instructions
Strong sales background
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years industry experience
Knowledge/Abilities:
Prove effective communication skills
Must be sales focused
Customer Service driven
Must display strong leadership skills
