Description:

****SILVER STAR WILL REIMBURSE 50% OF THE COST FOR THOSE WHO ARE WILLING TO TAKE YOUR SECURITIES LICENSE THROUGH THE SECURITY LICENSING UNIT OF BC. The Saloon Doormen will be responsible for the protection, safeguarding, and security of assets, personnel, customers and all visitors to the Saloon Pub. As a Doorman, you will patrol the place of entertainment to preserve order among patrons and to protect property. The majority of your position is at a fixed post by the front door.

Responsibilities:
 Enforce regulations of establishments
 Check age identification of patrons
 Ensure customer satisfaction; Resolve conflict situations; Maintain order
 Resolve customer complaints, as well as internal conflict amongst staff
 Ensure safety and emergency procedures are followed
 Follow emergency telephone procedures
 Detect or prevent thefts and vandalism, Write reports
 Provide customer service when applicable

Required Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
 Education: Completion of high school
 Must have your Securities License through the Security Licensing Unit of BC
 Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): First Aid Certificate
 Experience: Experience an asset
 Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
 Work Setting: Bar
 Type of Assignments: Fixed post
 Security and Safety: Bondable, Basic security clearance
 Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, Standing for extended periods, Walking
 Work Site Environment: Noisy, Exposure to cold weather at front door
 Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation
 Work Location Information: Urban area
 Essential Skills: Reading text, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Significant use of memory

 Operational hours can range from 11am till 2am however doorman shifts will range between 7pm and 2am.
