SilverStar's Winter Athletes & Ambassadors

We are pleased to support and introduce you to our 2021/22 Athletes & Ambassadors:


Elena is currently on the Canadian National Team and competing in Slopestyle and Big Air events around the world. Elena started skiing at the age of 4 at SilverStar in the Snowsports program and later the SilverStar Freestyle Ski Club. She competes on the World Cup Circuit and in other events like Dew Tour and X-Games. She won her first world cup in Big Air last year in New Zealand and is excited to continue competing. Elena will competing at her first Olympic Games, good luck in Bejing!


Since 2010, Hill has been a leader on the snowboardcross team, having gained respect with an impressive out-of-nowhere run that came up just short of qualifying for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. Hill turned heads with a second place finish at the 2011 Winter X-Games. In 2015 Hill took home Gold at the Winter X-Games, and followed up with a 2nd place at the FIS Snowboard World Championships. Hill will be competing at the 2022 Bejing Games. 

Freestyle Skier Tate Garrod

Born & raised in Vernon, Tate has been skiing SilverStar his entire life. To kick of the 21/22 season earned a spot and was invited to compete on the Noram Tour which means he will be competing around North America. Tate dreams of competing at a future Olympic Games. 

Freestyle Snowboard Oskar Klein

Oskar is a junior snowboarder aspiring to be the next Canadian olympic gold medalist. His goal for this season is to make it on to the Next GEN team, and make finals for nationals. 

Para-Alpine Skier Matthew Leach

Matthew is a visually impaired Para-Alpine Skier, in which he requires a guide to assist him through gates and free skiing. Matthew has big dreams to one day be named as an athlete on the Canadian Para-Alpine National Team. 


Para-Olympic Gold and Silver Medalist, Josh is a role model for many. His passion, drive, and enthusiasm for snow sports in Canada are a true inspiration.SilverStar has been home to Josh from the start of his Paralympic career and are proud to have him representing and inspiring the next generation of SilverStar shredders.
