Mid August Scoop: Reworking some of our favourite trails

August 26th: The crew have just finished working on Lower Jedi, with re-shaping and some fun new hits now open. The recent rain has given some ability for maintenance on trails, but we are still waiting for more moisture before any more major work can be done (keep up those rain dances). Machine work has started on the Slopestyle course (more news and updates on this coming soon!)

Heading into uncharted territory - 2 NEW TRAILS

July 29th: We are heading into uncharted territory. Introducing our two new trails launching out into the Attridge area of the mountain. These trails are a nod to the past with great, hand cut, singletrack working your way through rocky terrain, forest and then back to the village. Outer Limits is a “Dark Blue” that will take you out, down,  and back through this beautiful part of SilverStar. As you head down Outer Limits you can also cut out on “Throwback”, which is the new black level trail, a name in tribute to both the style of trail and some of the original alpine trails of SilverStar.

Beyond the new trails you’ll have to check out, the trail crew has still been working around the bike park as well.  Lower Shazam was getting worked earlier this season and we’ve just put the finishing touches on the work completed.  The last section of trail will get finished once the fire hazard goes down and we start running machines again.  While the water has been running down Shazam we snuck over to flow for a bit of love, keep your eyes open for some fresh pockets!

To get a feel for what you are in for, and let Enduro Athlete Jacob Tooke take you for a ride

Get PUMPED - New Pump Track NOW OPEN

July 23rd: We are stoked to announce that our NEW PUMP TRACK is NOW OPEN! Located next to the NATC building and open during daylight hours, this latest addition to the SilverStar Bike Park is sure to keep you pumped long after the chairlift stops. Special thanks to Contour Trails for creating this amazing track!

Check out some of the local pro's Bas van Steenbergen and Brayden Barret/Hay taking a spin on the new track below

Mid July Scoop: New Jumps, New Pumps, New Trails

July 16th: Check out the latest scoop of intel on what's happening in the Bike Park. Highlights include the NEW Jump Line from Matt Mcduff, a NEW pump track and NEW enduro styles trails on Attridge - all coming soon!

Keep an eye on our socials for opening dates!

Early July Trail Updates:

July 9: Some late rain yesterday will freshen things up in the Park for the weekend, however dry conditions are in effect and Trail Crew is waiting for more rain to allow for some of the bigger trail repairs and maintenance currently on the list.

Thanks to everyone for adopting our updated lift loading procedures - this past weekend saw minimal lift lines, plenty of tire tracks and happy faces!

The step-up on Title Line is being adjusted Friday, July 9th, so please re-ride with care. And, our NEW Pump Track build is coming along nicely - stay tuned for the opening date. We're also pleased to announce that some of our other build projects are nearing completion and we'll announce more soon here and on our social media. Till then, keep those rain dancings going and enjoy the trails!

July Long Weekend Trail Updates:

June 30: The Trail Crew is working hard to get Beowolf open for Saturday as the heat has been slowing us down a bit. Pipe dream has also had some more work in the upper section so please roll in with caution on your first lap through.

We are a quarter of the way through the build of our new pro level pump track; swing by the bike wash station by the NATC and you will be able to see the shape as it comes together.

Until more rain hits the Crew is focused on basic maintenance and repairs in the Park where we can, and ask everyone to ride with care as it’s getting a bit dusty out there.

More trails and builds are in the works and we will keep you updated as they get closer to being open.

Opening Weekend Trail Updates:

June 24: We're pleased to announce that we'll have over 90%+ of our trails cleaned, buffed and ready to go for Opening Day. Some of our trails have undergone some significant changes so we remind everyone to pre-ride and re-ride trails before free riding. With the development of the Title Line we have improved and rerouted Pipe Dream and Shazam, and major updates for this weekend include:

  • Upper Shazam has been reworked and refreshed with a better continuity of the trail.
  • Upper Pipe Dream has seen some significant rework of the jump lines, so please pre-ride with caution.
  • Claudias Hip & the Connector to base of Comet has been reworked and smoothed out with new dirt.
  • Title Line will be open and ready to ride. Please pre-ride with caution as this is an advanced trail.
  • Lower Shazam will remain closed for a few weeks while the lower sections are reworked
  • Beowulf will not be open this weekend due to snow delays on the trail, and the crew is now aiming for July 1.

Reminder that the Bike Park is open for passholders only on June 25, and will open to the public on June 26.

Stay tuned for more major announcements coming soon.

Introducing the NEW Title Line

June 24: The Title Line is a collaboration between SilverStar Bike Park and Title MTB, a showcases new approach to building innovative, progressive trails for mountain bikers.

This signature trail was designed and built by Brett Rheeder and his team of Title riders. Brett wanted to use the resources available to him and Title to do something more hands on to give back to the local riding community in the Okanagan, and the result is the Title Line.

Brett set out to create a trail that could be enjoyed by many, not just pro riders alone. The Title Line is designed with two sections, both offering something unique. The top section of the trail is curated primarily of berms and rollers and is intended to be enjoyed by riders of varying skill levels. The lower, more advanced section of the trail is made up of technical features where experienced riders will be able to enjoy some airtime!

This trail is the culmination of many months of work by Brett and the Title crew. We hope you enjoy!
