Guest host: Trish Reid
Join Trish Reid for a birding walk. Wear good shoes or boots as it is still wet under foot, and there are mosquitos around which is good for the birds!

Guest host: Greg O'Neill
Join Greg O’Neill for an easy walk to learn about the trees of Silver Star, how to recognize different species by their cones and bark and how to tell their age by taking a core sample.

Guest Host: Ward Strong
Meet Ward Strong for An Insect Safari. Ward will provide nets and hand lenses for participants to catch, identify, appreciate and release insects. Masks required as well as sturdy shoes, bug juice and sunscreen .

Guest Host: Patti Lefkos
Join Silver Star author Patti Lefkos for a talk about her book Nepal One Day at a Time,the story of her travels in Nepal with her husband and then her return trip by herself when she spent two weeks teaching in a remote school and a month  trekking to the forbidden kingdom of Upper Mustang.

Local wildlife photographer Jane Weitzl will share tips on photographing alpine flowers and wildlife. Bring your camera .

Guest Host: Margaret McKenzie
Meet Margaret McKenzie, a member of the North Okanagan Naturalist Club who runs the blue bird recovery programme, for a gentle walk to identify and enjoy the alpine flowers and learn more about pollination.

Guest Speaker: Patti Lefkos.  
Patti’s book  Nepal One One Day at a Time was published in 2020, Patti will tell us about her travels and the story of one woman’s quest to teach, trek and build a school in the remote Himalaya

Sunday, August 2nd 

Guest host: Warner Gruenwald. 
Warner Gruenwald will lead a geology trip and will talk about the history of mining on Silver Star Mountain and the different types of rocks that are found here and their ages. This will be a moderate hike up the mountain so wear good hiking shoes or boots.

AND

Guest host: Elaine Gruenwald. 
Elaine Gruenwald will talk about the history of Silver Star and take people for a walk through the museum exhibits in the Vance Creek, the Chilcot and the Pinnacles.

Guest artist: Ginny Hall. 
Ginny is a local artist -  join her for a casual walk and bring your sketchbook and pencils and take home a souvenir of Silver Star! Bring good shoes, insect repellent, water and a snack if you feel like it.

Guest artist : Jane Weitz

Wild about Bears ‘ Roseanne will share her knowledge of bears and will lead a gentle walk along the CrossMountain trail and hopefully, there will be bears feeding on the huckleberries on the ski runs!

Saturday, August 22nd 

Guest Host: Elaine Crerar and Nancy Crerar

Journey back to the 1980s with Nancy and Norm Crerar former co-owner of SilverStar Mountain Resort for a walk around the Village and stories of what it was like in 1981, how the current Village came to be, how skiing and summer activities developed and the Resort grew into a vibrant, friendly Village and community of today.
